Our four-day rugby tour to Barcelona with 26 players from Scoil Chríost Rí was an outstanding experience from beginning to end and genuinely surpassed our expectations.

Irish Rugby Tours made the entire process incredibly easy. From the initial planning and payment portal right through to our final day in Spain, everything was exceptionally well organised and we always felt that support was available whenever we needed it.

The tour itself was about much more than rugby. Our girls trained in excellent facilities, with everything laid out and ready for us, and at Cambrils Park in particular we genuinely felt as though we were being treated like professional athletes. The accommodation, sports facilities, pools, gym and private dining arrangements were exceptional, while the quality and variety of the food throughout our stay was excellent.

Some of our best memories also came away from the rugby pitch. We spent time at the beach, played rounders and beach volleyball, enjoyed team-bonding games, went shopping together, relaxed in the beautiful pools and had a fantastic day experiencing the thrills of PortAventura. The balance between rugby, activities and downtime was just right and allowed the girls to enjoy being together as a team.

A special mention has to go to our tour guide, Greg. From the moment he joined us, nothing was ever too much trouble. He helped us solve any minor issues, facilitated everything we asked of him and very quickly became part of our group. He was kind, patient and excellent with the girls, and they welcomed him with open arms. I have no doubt they would specifically request Greg if we travelled again.

As a Principal and tour organiser, I have been involved in many school trips and tours over the years. This was the gold standard. Our 26 players returned home with wonderful memories, stronger friendships and an experience that went far beyond rugby.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in travelling with Irish Rugby Tours again or recommending them to another school or rugby club. We will certainly be back.

We used Irish Rugby Tours for our U18G trip to Ireland this year and so happy we did. The itinerary was perfect the staff knowledge and easy to work with. Using a tour company took

Honestly, I have only been on two tours involving a hired touring organization and the experience I had with Irish Rugby Tours was far above and superior to anything I had experienced on my previous tour experience. Our guide Lucy did an incredible job of communicating to our group about schedules, activities and information throughout the entire trip. She went out of her way to provide additional information when requested, adjust to changing plans of our group and just made sure the entire tour went off without a single issue. She was professional, yet friendly and welcoming and was able to manage and help keep in line a rowdy group of college rugby players for the entirety of the trip. Our tour bus driver John was also an absolute gem and provided so much wonderful information about the history of the country and specific information to each city we visited. He was also so very professional, but at the same time fun and friendly! The experience was so good that I hope we can work with both Lucy and John again someday on a future tour, they were THAT incredibly good! The Kansas Jayhawks RFC (Lawrence, KS USA) would like to thank Ireland Rugby Tours for an unforgettable experience.  Our tour included Dublin, Galway, and Cork.  Everyday was well organized and enjoyable.  We had 3 training sessions with top notch rugby coaches, 3 rugby matches with first rate rugby clubs, several sightseeing excursions, and still plenty of free time to explore.  Several highlights include Ireland vs Scotland 6 Nations match, marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Galway, Cliffs of Moher, and so much more. Excellent coaching sessions and training.  We were disappointed in getting the details of our itinerary so late.   In addition, the location of the city for one of our hotels changed.  This made it difficult to coordinate plans with people we wanted to meet up with that were not part of the tour.
Our hotels in Bristol and Cardiff were excellent and the food was great.  The only drawback was the hotel in Cardiff was isolated.
The hostel in London’s only plus was its location.  It was a dive, with funky smells, cold showers and rude staff….,and questionable ethics by a certain bartender.
George was difficult to get a response from at times especially when we were booking flights.

Irish Rugby Tours is what the new generation are calling SICK. They are amazing!! Words are not enough to express the gratitude I felt towards those amazing human being that worked day in and day out to make our trip a success. I think I called George ions of times and with the time difference so many late nights. The best thing is they never got tired of me. They answered my calls, emails, and any concerns that I have and was beyond patient with me. I wished I was the one in charge of taking pictures to show how amazing our trip was. As a teacher on this trip, I really enjoyed it!!

Accommodation:  The lodges/cabins were clean, tidy, well equipped and comfortable.

Sporting facilities:  The facilities for both hockey and rugby were both of a very high standard and conveniently located to our accommodation.

Hosting clubs:  Both Lena 22 (hockey) and FC Barcelona (rugby) were excellent hosts providing food, refreshments and good company after our matches.  I would be grateful if you could pass on our school’s gratitude to both clubs!

Night-time supervision/security:  The night-time supervision team at Cambrills Park were both pleasant and helpful.  I felt that they had the welfare of our students at the forefront of their thoughts, and it was reassuring to have them on duty.

Food:  Students and staff were all very happy with variety of choices available at mealtimes in the restaurant.  However, some of the packed lunches that were not eaten, although, this in my experience is not unusual!

Buses:  The fleet of buses used during our trip were of a very high standard.  On a couple of occasions, we had to wait on a pickup, but I feel that this was understandable considering the volume of traffic and the lack of dedicated bus parking where we wanted to be picked up in central Barcelona.  During our visit we had four different drivers. Drivers one and three were helpful and very pleasant.  Drivers two and four were sullen and grumpy at times.

Overall impression:  Staff and students alike all had a great trip and a number of them have said that they would love to do it again next year.

Planning a tour for 100+ people to the Womens Rugby World Cup seemed like a daunting task until Irish Rugby Tours came along. They just took all the hassle out of the planning. Their expertise in planning trips for big groups meant that they could advise us on our plans and make suggestions knowing what works. We just went to the Flanders Open Rugby tournement in Dendermonde with Irish Rugby Tours (as a team).
We had amazing support from beginning to end! I really loved the option to pay in installments. Both of our guides (George and then Ray) gave us plenty of freedom but were still there at just the right times! The included dinners were all super generous. To say that our entire trip was amazing is an understatement!   From beginning to end we all had such a great time.  Having all of the work done for us by Irish Rugby Tours was so great that it will be hard to take another trip where we have to actually do all of the planning ourselves!  Every day has a plan and we got to see and do so much that we never could have put together without them.  From our bus driver, Bernard, to all of the rugby clubs, they made our trip so enjoyable. Hands down we had the best tour guide, Michelle. I think that all 80 people on our trip fell in love with everything Ireland because of all that she did with and for us as well as showing us how proud she is of her country. From tour guides to bus drivers everyone is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable with tidbits about local areas on the trip. This was our second tour with IRT. They planned an amazing array of both rugby and non-rugby experiences for my collegiate women's side. We had 3 amazing coaching sessions with international coaches, and 3 great games with local teams. Our tour guide made Scottish history and culture come alive, and we saw many historic sites. The tour kept us busy and entertained, and was life-changing for many of my players. George Hook is the most wonderful and communicative fellow to work with, and he makes sure you are 100% taken care of. Irish Rugby Tours planned and executed one of the greatest tours of Italy ever.  We got everything we wanted out of this tour, including an amazing Six Nations game. They make the planning and payment process easy.  The tour guide and bus drivers went above and beyond to make sure we were able to make memories that would last a lifetime.  They answered questions and gave suggestions that made exploring the cities easy, even with a language barrier.  The tour had something for everyone.  Our Girls High School Players love the shopping, Rugby Games, and Gladiator training.  The adults on the tour loved the cooking class, sight seeing, and the wine tasting. An amazing trip to Ireland! Irish Rugby Tours took care of everything. Michelle (our Irish tour guide) was great at meeting our needs, adjusting the schedule as it became necessary or desired. They made sure we had amazing coaches that were engaging and knowledgeable about the game and the needs of a touring side. I would gladly recommend Irish Rugby Tours for your team experience.  We had 9 days of fun activities with several training session the taught the team a lot.  The two rugby matches were a good experience for the boys.  And the parents had a good time as well.
