Tel Aviv Beaches - Rugby Tours To Tel Aviv, Irish Rugby Tours

Tel Aviv Beaches

The Tel Aviv coastal strip is 14 kilometres long, stretching from Herzliya to Bat Yam and composed of 13 official beaches.

At every such beach you will find changing rooms with bathrooms, lifeguard, rescue station, chairs and sun beds for rent.  Also, pergolas, special chairs for the disabled that allow them to float on the water.

There are play areas where you can borrow backgammon, checkers, toy pails and shovels free of charge.

In addition, beach libraries operate at the Jerusalem, Gordon, Metzizim and Hatzuk beaches.

South of Atarim Square begins the most famous beach in Tel Aviv.

Strips of sand, breakwaters and innumerable beach umbrellas whose colours vary according to the logos of the sponsors.

Gordon is one of the widest beaches in the city.

Every summer it becomes a mecca for local tourists, thanks to a large number of restaurants, diving clubs and volleyball courts.

Tel Aviv Markets

Israel is known as the land of plenty and the food in Tel Aviv is no exception.

Best place to buy your groceries is in a Shuk (market), there you will find a broad range of quality produce.

The best part is it is always cheaper than a super market and an entertaining experience.

From flea markets, food markets, souvenir stalls and handmade crafts it’s all on your doorstep whichever way you turn.

You will find the sellers friendly and charming and don’t be afraid to haggle for a better price.

Masada - Rugby Tours To Tel Aviv, Irish Rugby Tours

Masada

90 minutes away from Tel Aviv is Masada.

Masada is an ancient fortress in southern Israel’s Judean Desert.  It’s on a massive plateau overlooking the Dead Sea.

A cable car and a long, winding path climb up to the fortifications, built around 30 B.C.

Among the ruins are King Herod’s Palace, which sprawls over 3 rock terraces, and a Roman-style bathhouse with mosaic floors.

The Masada Museum has archaeological exhibits and recreates historical scenes.

Siege of Masada is often revered in modern Israel as “a symbol of Jewish heroism.  Masada became a symbol for a heroic ‘last stand’ for the State of Israel.

This played a major role for Israel in forging national identity.  To Israel, it symbolised the courage of the warriors of Masada.

Untold strength was shown when they were able to keep hold of Masada for almost three years.

Suicide is reported to be their choice of death over slavery in their struggle against an aggressive Roman Empire.

Luna Park

Luna Park is an amusement park complex in the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds established in 1970.

Regarded as Israel’s number one park, the park’s attractions include ferris wheels, bumper cars, carousels and roller coasters.

In its early days, the entrance was free and visitors paid only for rides.

Your admission ticket gives you access to all rides and attractions.

The view from the top of the highest wheels and rides gives you a birds eye view of the city and coast line.

A visit to Luna Park is the perfect weekend activity for the whole family or group.
