Swansea Museum

Everything that is old, present and the futuristic can be found at its four locations across Swansea providing a visitor’s experience.

The Swansea Museum is the oldest museum in Wales.

The building was built for the Royal Institution of South Wales in 1841 in the neo-classical style.

With plenty to see it’s really worth going to see.

Swansea Castle

Like Cardiff Castle, Swansea Castle is too located in the centre of the city.

Founded by Henry De Beaumont in 1107 and was built with timber.

The castle was rebuilt in stone between 1221-1284 and designated as a world heritage site in 1952.

Unfortunately it does not remain in the splendour style that Cardiff Castle looks like.

As you wander around the ruins you can get a sense how the castle did look back in its hey day.

Coasteering

Coasteering with Quest Adventures is quite possibly the best way to explore the beautiful coastline of South Wales.

Scramble, climb, jump and dive into the beautiful Atlantic waters washing up on our sheer cliff faces and rugged coastline, with its coves, caves and hidden treasures.

Coasteering is similar to gorge walking and canyoning, and is a great all round outdoor activity with its jumps, traversing & climbing.

All this along the South Wales stunning coastline.

Penderyn Distillery

Penderyn is a Welsh Whisky distillery and brand, producing the first commercially available whisky made in Wales since the 19th century.  Produced at the Penderyn Distillery (the Welsh Whisky Company), Penderyn is a single malt whisky.  It is produced in several expressions, e.g. Madeira Finish, Peated, Sherrywood and Portwood.

The distillery also produces the Dragon range comprising Legend (Madeira finish), Myth (Bourbon finish) and Celt (Peated).

The company was launched in 2000 as the Welsh Whisky Company.  Whisky had been distilled in Wales for hundreds of years, but stopped in 1894.  Did you know that Penderyn became the first whisky to be manufactured in Wales for over a century when sales started in 2004?
