Auckland lies between the Hauraki Gulf of the Pacific Ocean.

The surrounding hills are covered in rainforest and the landscape is dotted with dozens of dormant volcanic cones.

The central part of the urban area occupies a narrow isthmus between the Manukau Harbour, Tasman Sea and the Waitemata Harbour, Pacific Ocean.

It is one of the few cities in the world to have a harbour on each of two separate major bodies of water.

Rugby features an awful lot in the city and is home to the Auckland Blues Aotearoa Super Rugby franchise.

Many famous world and household names have played for the Blues including Ma’a Nonu and Sonny Bill Williams.

In Addition, there are three Mitre 10 Cup rugby union teams which is the level below: Auckland, North Harbour and Counties Manukau. You find that these teams are feeder teams to the main franchise.

KiteKite Falls

Kitekite Falls is a scenic 3-tiered waterfall near Auckland. The falls drop a total of 40 metres.

From the lookout on Kitekite track the falls appear even higher because there is white water running over rocks into a small pool.

There are 3 swimming holes, the upper swimming hole, middle large pool and a small pool.

All before beginning an almost vertical descent in the final 3-tiers, making the total height closer to 80 metres.

They are located on the Glen Esk stream near Piha Beach.

People have commented on what a beautiful place to visit and enjoy the day there.

Scaling the Auckland Harbour Bridge is rewarding, educational and something a bit different.

It’s a fully-guided tour which will take you right to the top giving you a 360-degree view of Auckland.

With custom engineered walkways, it’s not only safe, but a pretty cool team bonding exercise too.

Also, you have the chance to bungee jump if you haven’t already down so at the Sky Tower.
