Rugby Tours To Oban translated from Scottish Gaelic means Rugby Tours to the Little Bay.

It is a resort town, the bay itself is the perfect horseshoe.

Despite its small size, it is the largest town between Helensburgh and Fort William and holds up to 25,000 people.

This shows during the tourist season showing how popular it is.

Oban dates back to at least the Mesolitic times as remains were found of cave dwellers found in the town.

The modern town of Oban grew up from around 1794.

Oban War And Peace Museum

Oban War & Peace Museum contains a fascinating collection of artefacts and photographs.

Depicting the rich cultural history of the busy port town and its people.

You can learn about the fishing and maritime industries, the railway, road transport, local sports.

The iconic McCaig’s Tower overlooks the town and there is some view from it.

The town played a very strategic role during World War 2.

It was home to Australian, Canadian and US aircrew and RAF Flying Boats who operated from the bay.

Finn Falconry

Pop along to Finn Falconry, see how birds of prey perform under instruction delivering and facilitating static and flying displays.

It takes two hours a day to train a bird of prey or longer.

But you must remember that when you do start that your bird is no longer a pet.

Falconry is about hunting and if your bird fails to land a kill he must be fed when he returns to your glove.

Oban Distillery

Experience the Malt Whisky making process close at hand, and learn the secrets which make Oban Malt Whisky taste totally unique.

Established in 1794, it was built before the town of the same name, which sprung up later in the surrounding craggy harbour.

The distillery was built in 1794 by the brothers John and Hugh Stevenson.

There will be numerous experiences throughout the tour to stimulate your senses.

Included is a sample of Oban Malt direct from the cask and also the opportunity to sample Oban Malt whisky.

Wildlife Tour

Starting from Oban’s Railway Pier aboard the MV Purple Heather you sail across Oban Bay past Dunollie Castle and Hutcheson’s Monument.

You then arrive at the seal colony in the Firth of Lorne which includes open views of Mull and Lismore.

Along the way there’s an abundance of wildlife to spot.

Like all kinds of sea birds, seals basking in their natural unspoilt surroundings.

Otters and sea eagles, maybe even dolphins areall set in the beautiful and stunning scenery of the Scottish West Coast.

Puffin Dive Centre

Puffin Dive Centre offers scuba diving activities.

The centre provide diving lessons ranging from beginner to expert.

Learn how to dive for the first time in your life or learn how to become a certified diver.

If you have never tried scuba diving , the Puffin Dive Centre is a great place to start

They offer 1:1 diving lessons to give you the ultimate experience.

Dive and swim amongst the variety of fish, crab, octopus, and beautiful plant life which are local to the Oban bay.

Duart Castle

For those rugby loving culture vultures, why not give a visit to Duart Castle.

There is so much history surrounding this castle.

The 14th century keep was built by a famous clan member Chief Lachlan Lubanach Maclean.

The Maclean family originated from this area in Oban and the name can be found throughout the world.

The Macleans of Duart date all the way back to 1367.

There is an exhibition area which is dedicated to the History of the Chiefs of the Clan which should be visited on your visit to Duart Castle.
