Rugby Tours to Galway.  A harbour city on Ireland’s west coast, sits where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean.

The city’s hub is 18th century Eyre Square. It is a popular meeting spot surrounded by shops and traditional pubs that often offer live Irish folk music.

Coasteering

Aran Islands

The Aran Islands are located just off Galway and Doolin.

A true Irish experience awaits, locals speak Irish as well as English in a setting of Celtic churches of historical significance. This includes World Heritage site Dun Aonghasa which is set on dramatic 300 ft cliff edge.

To get around the island of your choice, there are 4 options.

Firstly, bike hire, but I hope you are fit, the islands have undulating roads and will test your fitness.

Secondly, a horse and cart a more romantic way of seeing the island especially on a beautiful summers day.

Thirdly, minibus, this will pick you up and drop you at points along the island making sure you don’t miss a thing.

Lastly, you have Shanks Pony.  For those who enjoy a long walk this is for you.

Attend an intensive training session with coaches from Connacht Rugby and improve you game, skills and players abilities.

The sessions here in Galway are very good and a lot of teams comment on how good they are.

Of course it’s all down to the coach giving the session and the Connacht staff that do them are very good indeed.

Teams take on a lot what is taught to them and this is shown in their results when they get home.

It’s all down to our training sessions and the coaches we provide.

Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre

Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre is one of the 6 national wildlife parks in Ireland.

The beautiful scenery can be enjoyed throughout the park at a zero cost entry free.

The grounds are open year long and there are guides on site to provide you with information on  the grounds, trails or viewing the exhibition.

There are several things you can check out here such as the walking trail, the diamond hill trails, exhibitions, Connemara ponies and much much more.

There is a lot of varied wildlife and plant life which can be seen as well.

Connemara National Park is a must visit when visiting Galway on your next rugby tour.

Salthill Promenade

A favourite past time for Galwegians and visitors also is a visit to Salthill promenade.

The promenade is situated at the end of Galway city and it stretches for about 2 km.

Its hard to beat the location of the promenade, on a clear day you can even see the famous Aran Islands.

Why not take a 2km stroll for 45 mins or even a swim if you are brave enough.

Tradition says that if you “kick the wall” at the end of the promenade it brings good luck.

A trip to Salthill Promenade is a must when visiting Galway.

Surf School

How does the idea of surfing on the Atlantic waves sound?

Spend an afternoon learning how to surf and then ride the waves.

Firstly you will get your tuition from professional instructors. They will take you through your steps and of course health and safety when in the water.

Once you have mastered the basics and under the guidance of your instructor away you go.

Surfing in Galway is a big favourite with our groups and is always on the itinerary.

Just an hours drive from Galway is Athlone which is home to Bay Sports.

Bay Sports is home to Ireland’s largest waterpark.  Made up of the biggest collection of original one off award winning floating slides, rockers and challenges, entertaining and delighting people of all ages and abilities.

Climb the Guinness© World Record tallest inflatable waterslide.  Will you dare to slide down it!?

But don’t stop there, combine your visit to the waterpark with one, two or three hours of fun in their pedal boats, SUPs (Stand Up Paddling Boards), kayaks or big yellow rafts.
