Rugby Tours To Cape Town

Rugby Tours to Cape Town is another old friend to Irish Rugby Tours.

Located on the west coast of the country it is known as the Mother City.

It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants and expatriates to South Africa.

Situated on the shore of Table Bay, it was developed by the United East India Company as a supply station.

Dutch ships used the port sailing to East Africa, India, and the Far East.

Rugby is also played in the city with rugby franchise the Stormers being the city’s team.

The Stormers have supplied many household names to the national team including Damian de Allende, Juan de Jongh and Eben Etzebeth.

Cape Town is a wonderful city and should be on your bucket list.

Table Mountain - Rugby Tours To South Africa, Irish Rugby Tours

Table Mountain

The views from the summit of Cape Town’s iconic landmark are spectacular enough.

Take the spiral lift to the top and soak it all in.

Now imagine the views you’ll have if you decide to abseil your way down the side of the mountain.

At 1000 meters above sea level, this is the world’s highest commercial abseil.

It makes for an exhilarating experience as you are lowered into the vortex.

Blue ocean stretching out before as you, Camps Bay, Lion’s Head and The Twelve Apostles forming a panorama of splendour.

Robben Island Prison

Welcome to the home of Nelson Mandela.

From 1961, Robben Island was used by the South African government as a prison for political prisoners and convicted criminals.

The maximum-security prison for political prisoners closed in 1991.

The medium security prison for criminal prisoners was closed five years later.

With the end of apartheid, the island has become a popular destination with global tourists.

It is managed by Robben Island Museum which operates the site as a living museum.

In 1999 the island was declared a World Heritage Site.

Every year thousands of visitors take the ferry from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for tours of the island and its former prison.

Many of the guides are former prisoners.

Stormers Training Session

Attend an intensive rugby training session with coaches from the Stormers to improve you game and skills.

The sessions here in Newlands are very good and a lot of teams comment on how good they are.

Of course it’s all down to the coach giving the session and the Stormers staff that do them are very good indeed.

Teams take on a lot what is taught to them and this is shown in their results when they get home.

It’s all down to our training sessions and the coaches we provide.

Shark & Whale Tour

Take a whale and shark tour and see these magnificent creatures in their own natural habitat.

Whales can often be seen in the bay all year round.

What could be possibly seen are Brydes Whales, Humpbacks, Southern Rights, Minkes and Orcas.

If you’re lucky you might get one of these great mammals showing off and making a splash.

A wide variety of sharks can be found in the bay.

Besides Great White Sharks there are also intermittent encounters with Ragged Tooth Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks as well as Mako Sharks.
