Barcelona Aquarium has 35 aquariums at the facility and is home to 11,000 animals representing 450 species.

The aquarium contains a total of 5,000,000 l of water.

This includes an ocean tank for sharks, rays and other large fish.

Measurements for the tank 36m in diameter, 5m deep, contains 3,700,000 litres of water and a 80-meter underwater tunnel.

Almost every known fish to man is here and the colours of the fish swimming around are amazing.

If you are feeling very brave there might even be a chance to dive in with the fish or a shark or two.

Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, English and Catalan footballers led by Joan Gamper. The club has become a symbol of Catalan culture hence the motto “Més que un club” “More than a club”.

Port Aventura

For those who like to experience the thrill of white knuckle rides this is for you.

The Dragon Khan with 8 inversions this formerly held the record as having more inversions than any other roller coaster.

In addition it also held the world record for the tallest vertical loop on any roller-coaster.

The ride built by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) opened on 2 May 1995. It still has one of the two roller coasters that Port Aventura had when it opened. Consistently ranks among one of the world’s best roller coasters in polls.

Of course there are plenty of the more subtle rides for those who don’t need that rush.

At the Parc Olímpic del Segre home to the Barcelona Olympics you will find all water sports that were involved in the Olympics.

Under strict tuition from experts they will teach you how to White Water Raft, Canoeing, Hydrospeed & Kayaking.

Hydrospeed looks really exciting as you go down the course on a specially designed flat board.  A real adrenaline rush for thrill seekers.  Located two hours outside Barcelona a full day can be easily designed to keep you busy.
