Testimonials

As we prepared to launch our first tour, it was crucial to partner with a tour company on the ground who we could trust.

Irish Rugby Tours provided us with the knowledge, service and expertise we'd come to hear about.

Expectations weren't met, they were far exceeded.

Every player, coach and parent came away with an incredibly positive experience. I'd 100% recommend Irish Rugby Tours.

Hi George,

Just a brief personal note to thank you for your support of GatewayToEurope. It was generally deemed a major success and all feedback was very positive.

The nature of the initiative was that everyone had to buy in to the spirit and muck in, and this seemed to be the culture. In particular, I don't underestimate the logistical nightmare of scheduling 50 people's movement but always done with professionalism, flexibility and humour.

We'd love to keep in touch and open to any ideas on the future shape of "Gateway", and I hope some worthwhile connections with participants and attendees were made with your business.

Delighted to meet for a coffee if we can be of help at any time.

Cheers & talk soon,

Athy  R.F.C. Under 12's Rugby Tour to Cardiff March & April 2013

Athy RFC U12's players, coaches and parents enjoyed a flawless trip to Cardiff over the Easter weekend in 2013, the trip went like clockwork and will be a memory that stays will everyone involved for life. Having organised a tour myself I know all the stresses and strains that go into pulling off the event of this magnitude but with Irish rugby tours organising this there was never any need to panic, in essence all I needed to do was but the feet up and let George do his thing and he certainly did make it happen to a high professional standard but on a very reasonable budget. I would have no hessitations in recommending Irish Rugby Tour to any sporting party thinkgs of organising a tour at home or overseas.

Many Thanks to George and all those at Irish Rugby Tour who made so many children happy - we'll not forget you - if we venture overseas again you'll be the man taking care of us!

The itinerary was fantastic.  Dublin and Galway were wonderful!

Our clinic with Kevin was FANTASTIC.  He taught us some good drills and skills for 7s play.

The dinner in Galway was delicious!

Damian (our driver in Dublin) was very nice, and went above and beyond.

He was more than a taxi driver—he told us places to go in Dublin, and told a bunch of great stories.

Yes, if we planned on another trip to Ireland, we’d definitely use Irish Rugby Tours again.

Our trip with Irish Rugby Tours was great!  George Hook planned a great trip for us, and was truly concerned about how we were doing on the trip, and made sure that everything went smoothly the whole time we were in Ireland.  I would definitely recommend Irish Rugby Tours to any ruggers looking to have some fun and play some rugby on the Emerald Isle.

The food was good.  We were trying to cater to teenagers where the food was

obivously Spanish and not Mamy’s cooking for some of them.

Good rugby from both clubs we were well looked after by both clubs especially

Tarragona who were excellent when one of our players needed hospital treatment.

"We made friends for life".

"Like a good full back a safe pair of hands that took as much as possible of the worries
and hassels of going on tour away."

George,

Thank you for everything.

The location of the hotels in Galway and Limerick were perfect!
Just a short walk to all of the main parts of the city.  The Accommodations in Dublin were very nice as well,

The food was good to very good at all locations.  Top notch competition!  We learned a ton of rugby.

The meal in Limerick on the final night of the tour and the meal in Nenagh were excellent!

I can’t say enough good things about Tom O’Brien.  He was beyond Excellent.

He had a great sense of humour, great knowledge of Irish history,

and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.  I hope my paths cross with Tom again.

Our experience with Irish Rugby Tours was excellent.  The tour itinerary was

filled with social, historical and rugby related activities.

The players and non-players on the tour had smiles on their faces the entire tour.

The Hurling experience in Nenagh was one of the highlights of the tour.

We will definitely be planning another tour with Irish Rugby Tours in the near future.

Cill Dara RFC U13’s Shine in Paris

After a year of planning and fund-raising, the U13 squad from the Curragh-based, Cill Dara Rugby Club, travelled to France last weekend to compete in the ‘Challenges Rugby D’Orsay 2012’ tournament held just outside Paris. The 36-strong squad along with coaches, mentors and parents spent two days enjoying the Parisian sights and the fantastic hospitality of the host club, AC Orsay Rugby, before getting down to the serious business of Sunday’s competition.

As one of the biggest youth tournaments in the Paris area, the attending teams consisted of clubs and rugby academies from the area including such luminous names as Stade Francais and Racing Club de Paris. Cill Dara entered two teams in a tournament and far from feeling intimated, the children were relishing playing in this illustrious company. The matches were 9 minutes long and played on half a pitch beginning with a group stage.
